5. Acrylic Dry-Erase Wall Calendar

Acrylic has a clean, modern look that reads as intentional rather than improvised. Mounted with standoffs, it appears to float off the wall, which makes it a good fit for minimalist living rooms and home offices.
Materials: A clear acrylic sheet (cut to size at a plastics shop or online), four standoff mounting kits, a printed grid template to place behind the acrylic, and fine-tip dry-erase markers.
How to make it: Create your grid on a sheet of paper or cardstock, sized to match the acrylic. Mount the standoffs according to the kit instructions, placing the grid template against the wall first, then attaching the acrylic over it with a small gap. The grid shows through; you write on the front.
Time and difficulty: Forty-five minutes. You’ll need a drill for the anchors, but the standoffs do the hard work.
Care tips: Use only acrylic-safe cleaner or a damp microfiber cloth. Ammonia-based glass cleaners will cloud the surface over time, and paper towels can leave fine scratches.
Customization: Swap the template seasonally, use colored markers to designate each person, or add a slim acrylic strip beside it just for meal planning.
